Day-by-Day Itinerary
Days 1-9: Xi'an to Urumqi
Follow the classic route as described in the 10-day itinerary above (Days 1-9).
Day 10: Kashgar
Fly to Kashgar. Old City exploration — mud-brick alleys unchanged for centuries. Id Kah Mosque. Apak Khoja Tomb.
Day 11: Sunday Bazaar
The legendary Kashgar Sunday Bazaar — livestock, spices, carpets, and silk. One of the greatest markets on earth. Afternoon: handicraft street for copper, woodwork, and musical instruments.
Day 12: Karakul Lake
Drive the Karakoram Highway to Karakul Lake — stunning alpine lake at 3,600m with Muztagh Ata (7,546m) and Kongur (7,649m) reflecting in the water. Kyrgyz yurt lunch. Return to Kashgar.
Day 13: Kashgar Culture
Visit a Uyghur bread (nan) bakery. Traditional Uyghur music performance. Farewell dinner in the Old City.
Day 14: Departure
Kashgar or Urumqi departure transfer.
