June to September offers best weather and most festivals. April-May and October are also good. Winter is cold but less crowded.

Getting There
Lhasa Gonggar Airport (LXA) has flights from Beijing, Chengdu, Xi'an. The Qinghai-Tibet Railway from Xining is a legendary scenic journey.
