This winter, the 42nd Harbin International Ice and Snow Festival has officially kicked off, transforming Harbin into a dazzling ice kingdom where three major venues — the colossal Harbin Ice and Snow World, the artistic Sun Island Snow Sculpture Expo, and the historic Zhaolin Park Ice Lantern Fair — bring snow and ice to life like nowhere else on Earth. The Ice and Snow World alone has expanded to an astonishing 1.2 million square meters with hundreds of thousands of cubic meters of ice and snow (complete with 3D mapping light shows and immersive activities), while Zhaolin Park continues its legacy of enchanting lantern art with free public admission. Originating in 1985 and now one of the world’s largest winter festivals, Harbin’s Ice and Snow Festival has grown into a global cultural phenomenon that celebrates monumental ice artistry and winter fun every year.
