Jingshan Mountain Park

In the Yuan Dynasty, Jingshan was known as Qingshan, a small mound. In the Ming Dynasty, coal was piled here, earning it the nickname Coal Mountain. Emperor Shunzhi of the Qing Dynasty renamed it Jingshan after naming the Forbidden City, and it lies on its central axis. Ascending Jingshan offers a sweeping view of the Forbidden City.

Tiananmen Square, Forbidden City, Jingshan Park

 
You will be picked up from hotel or train station, then start to explore the historical face of Beijing with a brief visit to Tiananmen Square which is now the largest city plaza in the world. Tiananmen Gate on the northern square was the site where the Chairman Mao announced the establishment of the People's Republic of China. Stepping into the Tiananmen, you will see one of the world’s 5 most important palaces – Forbidden City, a huge palace complex of more than 9,000 rooms where 24 emperors of Ming and Qing Dynasties used to live in. Pass through various doorways to admire the magnificent and well preserved buildings decorated with yellow glazed tile roof, white marble base and splendid colorful paintings. 

After Forbidden City exploration, take a short visit to Jingshan Park where you can get a nice shot of one watchtower of Forbidden City and take a panoramic view of Forbidden City.

Summer Palace + Mutianyu Great Wall + Olmpic Village

 

After breakfast at hotel, set off to drive 70km (about 1.5 h) to witness one of the Seven Wonders of the World - Great Wall. Mutianyu, a well-preserved segment of Great Wall built in Ming Dynasty, lives up to all of your nice expectation. 

Enjoy walking at your own pace and our private tour flexibility. It is possible to stay longer on the Wall or finish earlier as you wish. If energy permits, you can hike up or down which takes about 40 minutes to climb steps.

 

For families, it is optional to take chairlift up + Toboggan ride down which is fun and great experience. You can take a chairlift to ascend the Great Wall, then hike the most beautiful and interesting part of Mutianyu. It's a wonderful experience to climb up its rising towers to enjoy scenic views and take brag-worthy photos of the wall wriggling along mountain ridges. After the exciting time, descend Mutianyu Great Wall by safe Toboggan ride.  

 

Back to the city in the afternoon. Spend an enjoyable time in Summer Palace, the largest and best-preserved royal garden in China. Stroll around ancient pavilions, mansions, temples, bridges and corridors. It is optional to take a boat on Kunming Lake which covers 75% of the entire size of Summer Palace. On the boat, you can view the fascinating landscape of the garden with slow pace.

Drive back to city center, take a shot stop at the Beijing Olympic Village to view the magnificent Bird's Nest and Water Cube from the outside on the way back to your hotel.

Temple of Heaven + Qianmen Avenue + Shicahai Hutong 

 
 
Drive to the imperial site – Temple of Heaven. It was originally used to pay homage to Heaven and pray for harvest, now becomes a bustling place for locals to take part in traditional activities, such as Tai Chi, dancing, kite flying, water calligraphy, etc.
 
You will explore hutong, the charm of old Beijing, experience real life in Beijing. When we talk about Hutong, everyone will think about the charm of old Beijing. Hutong culture is also the bloodline of old Beijingers. For Beijing tourists, the hutongs are also a must-see attraction. There is not only a fusion of modern atmosphere, but also a taste of Beijing that has been preserved for many years. We will visit a few hutongs of the top 10 hutong in Beijing: Nanluoguxiang, Yandai Xiejie ( Tobacco Pipe Lean Street ), Trum Tower and Bell Tower.
