Detailed Itinerary
Day 1
Xi'an Arrival
Arrive in Xi'an at any time convenient by plane or train, and arrange the transfer to the hotel by yourself. You could take a taxi, then check in at the hotel with your passports. two or more people book with us, get free airport/train station transfers!
Day 2
Today's highlights: Terracotta Warriors and Horses, Xian Great Wall, Muslim Old Quater
After breakfast, This morning, the local English-speaking guide and driver will meet you at the hotel lobby. After one hour drive from the city center, you will arrive at the Terracotta Warriors Museum, built by the first emperor of China Qin Shihuang to protect him in his afterlife. Over 8,000 life-size warriors, horses and chariots, buried in 3 pits for more than 2,000 years until uncovered by a local farmer in 1974, form an ancient military army with complete battle units of infantry, cavalry, etc. Standing in front of these figures, one can’t help being amazed not only by the ambition of Emperor Qin Shihuang but also by the fabulous artistic skills of ancient Chinese artisans.
Then we go to Xi'an's Ancient City Wall, the largest and best-preserved ancient city wall in China. You can walk on the massive wall (tall, long, and thick), or rent a bicycle (optional, rent the bike at your own expense).
Enjoy panoramic views of modern Xian while you leisurely examine this well-maintained city wall which is 12 meters high and 18 meters wide with a total circuit of nearly 14 kilometers, and be introduced to the most complete and oldest city defenses with ancient walls, ramparts, gates, watchtowers, and horse passages.
In late afternoon, we head to Muslim Quarter for a variety of authentic snacks including biangbiang noodles, ice peak (a kind of drink), soup dumplings, mirror cake, sour plum soup, dried persimmon, and lamb skewer. We'll also explore the bustling Zhonggulou Square where the beautiful Bell Towers and Drum Towers are located at.
Evening options: after the Muslim Quater, you can choose to head to the Grand Tang Dynasty Ever-Bright City on your own,where you can fully enjoy the Tang style.Great Tang Ever-Bright City is based on the culture of the prosperous Tang Dynasty and mainly on the elements of Tang style.The lights show and the sculpture are the specialities.
Day 3.
Xian - Luoyang, Shaolin Temple, Luoyang at Night
This morning, we will take train from Xian to Luoyang (train ride is around 1h20mins). Arrive in Luoyang, we will drive 1.5hrs to Shaolin Temple in Dengfeng City, the birthplace of Zen Buddhism and the cradle of Kung Fu.
You will visit the grandiose temples and halls, admire stone carving art, learn about Buddhism culture, and observe the daily living and meditation of monks in the temple.
Don't miss the famous Pagoda Forest, the existing largest pagoda forest in China. When an important monk passed away, their cremains or skeleton would be put into the underground palace, and a pagoda will be built on it. The pagoda's height, size and number of layers will be decided according to the monk's Buddhism knowledge, reputation and merits and virtues during his lifetime.
You will also enjoy a magnificent Kung Fu Show in Shaolin Wushu Hall which is performed by martial monks of Shaolin Temple daily, and usually lasts for about half an hour.
After that, we head back to Luoyang. Free time for you pay a visit to Lijingmen Street for the local culture and food. Depend on how far you can make, we can also go to Luoyi Old City.

Day 4
Today we will visit the legendary Longmen Grottoes, which contains the largest and most impressive collection of Chinese art of the late Northern Wei and Tang Dynasties (316-907). The UNESCO World Heritage Site is densely scattered on the cliffs of Mount Longmen (West Hill) and Mount Xiangshan (East Mountain) – on two banks of Yi River. West Hill houses the major caves with notable displays of Buddhist sculptures and calligraphic inscriptions.
The highlights include Bingyang Cave which tells a wealth of history and artistic value, Guyang Cave with over 1,000 Buddha statues and 800 calligraphy inscriptions, and Fengxian Temple – the largest cave with a 17.14-meter-tall sculpture of Vairocana Buddha.
After the visit, transfer to train station or airport for departure.
