Tour Highlights

Giant Panda Base

Chengdu is called the 'Hometown of Giant Pandas', which give you the best chance to see the cutest animal in the world. Chengdu Panda Base is the closest panda base to see over 100 giant pandas and their baby pandas. It will be a lovely experience to see these animals from a close distance.

Leshan Buddha

The Leshan Giant Buddha is a 71m-tall stone statue, constructed from 713-803 during the Tang dynasty. Carved from Cretaceous red bed sandstones, it stands at the confluence of the Min and Dadu Rivers in southern Sichuan, near Leshan. Facing Mount Emei, with rivers beneath its feet, it's the world's largest and tallest stone Buddha and the tallest pre-modern statue.

Jiuzhaigou Natural Reserve

Jiuzhaigou is a sapphire scattered on earth and a fairy tale wonderland. Strolling through the reserve you'll find that marvelous views take over your sight, it looks just like a wonderland in the fairy tales.

Huanglong National Park

Huanglong Scenic and Historic Interest Area (Walking up and get off by the cable car), It is the only well protected plateau wetland in China. With the change of the surrounding scenery changes and the angle of the sunlight brings out the colorful color.

Zhongcha Valley

Zhongcha Valley is known as "the back garden of Jiuzhaigou". It is separated from the Jiuzhaigou Scenic Area by only one mountain. Here, there are abundant animal and plant resources and beautiful scenery. It can make up for the regret that there is no grassland in Jiuzhaigou.

Itinerary

Day 1

Arrive in Chengdu, free time

After flight or train arrives Chengdu , our driver will transfer you to the hotel booked by us. Then, the rest of day is free for you to explore this city and try local food

Tips: we recommend you book the flight into Shuangliu Airport, because Tianfu Airport is very far from the city. Additional cost will incur if pick up from Shuangliu airport.

Day 2

Chengdu: Panda Base + City Explore

Discover most popular UNESCO sites near Chengdu as you learn about the Giant Panda on this full-day tour. Start the tour with pick up from your hotel located within the 2nd ring of downtown Chengdu. Enjoy a comfortable transfer to the Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding which is just a 1-hour drive away at the edge of the city. Spend approximately 2 to 2.5 hours exploring the breeding center. See over 170 pandas from tiny pink newborns to giants which reach up to 1.5 meters tall. Admire the adorable panda babies running around their play enclosures, laying in the pool, or climbing the trees.

Then we head back to the city to enjoy 'slow life of Chengdu'. Explore

① People's Park, which was built in 1911. It is now a relaxing place for locals. Catch interesting performance such as the Tea Kongfu, Fire-Spitting and Face-Changing Show at the People's Park.

② Kuan & Zhai Alley, whichis a famous commercial and cultural pedestrain street in China. There are a sea of yummy foods

③ Jinli Street, adjacent to Wuhou Temple, feature cobbled streets reflecting Sichuan's folk culture.

Day 3

Chengdu: Leshan Buddha + Huanglong Xi Old Town

Discover one of most popular UNESCO sites Giant Buddha on this full-day tour.

Start the tour with pick up from your hotel located within the 2nd ring of downtown Chengdu. Enjoy a comfortable transfer to the Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding which is just a 1-hour drive away at the edge of the city. Spend approximately 2 to 2.5 hours exploring the breeding center. See over 170 pandas from tiny pink newborns to giants which reach up to 1.5 meters tall. Admire the adorable panda babies running around their play enclosures, laying in the pool, or climbing the trees.

Next, head over to the historic Leshan Buddha located is 2.5 hours away along the expressway. Discover the world's largest sitting Buddha statue which is about 71 meters high crafted out of a cliff face. If the situation allows, the guide will take you for a closer look at the Buddha's head and feet. Find out more about Buddism and local beliefs in the Lingyun Temple next to the Giant Buddha.

After exploring Leshan, stroll through the ancient town of Huanglongxi. This 2,100-year-old water town was once a military stronghold of ancient Shu, a military base of Zhuge Liang, and a prosperous distribution center of the Southern Silk Road. The bluestone road is winding, the ancient buildings are close to the mountains and rivers, and the aroma of authentic food is fragrant. Head back to Chengdu. Depending on traffic, end the tour in the city center of Tianfu Square/back to your hotel

Day 4

Chengdu → Huanglong → Jiuzhaigou

Morning: You will be picked up from hotel and transfer to train station Chengdu East/West/South Railway Station (depending on our ticket purchased). Meet our tour guide and take the high-speed rail to Jiuzhaigou Huanglong Station. The amazing newly built Chengdu - Jiuzhai/Huanglong train route goes through Qingbaijiang, Shifang West, Mianzhu South, Mao County, Songpan, etc. The train journey will take about 2 hours.

Afternoon: Upon arrival, our friendly driver was ready and waiting to whisk us away on a scenic 30mins drive to the stunning Huanglong Scenic Area, a UNESCO World Heritage site, is famed for its stunning calcium carbonate deposits that create colorful terraced ponds. You spent roughly 3 hours exploring this natural wonder. Explore calcium carbonate pools, Golden Sand Floor, Five-Color Pools, the historic Huanglong Temple and more. Don't miss the Multi-colored Ponds, which shimmer in shades of blue, green, and yellow. The waterfalls cascading down the snow-capped peaks are a sight to behold.

After our exploration, we drove 2 hours to our hotel in Jiuzhaigou to check in.

Evening: Enjoy a Tibetan-style hotpot dinner and folk dance performance as a warm welcome for tonight. Rest well prepare for next day explore the fairyland landscape of Jiuzhaigou.

Tips:

1) Huanglong National Park has a higher altitude than Jiuzhai Valley. Many travelers prefer to visit Huanglong first to acclimate to the altitude before heading to Jiuzhai Valley and then back to Chengdu. This way, you can adjust to the altitude gradually and enjoy your trip more comfortably while explore Jiuzhaigou

2) Huanglong entrance fee is included in the tour package. Other optional fees in Huanglong: cable car RMB 70 per way, sightseeing car ¥20; closed Nov 26–Mar 31). We recommed guest take cableway up, as the highest altitude reaches above 4000m and then hike down to fully enjoy the colorful ponds and the surrounding nature.

Day 5

Full-Day Jiuzhaigou Valley Tour

After breakfast at your hotel, set out for the full-day exploration of Jiuzhaigou National Park. Known for its stunningly clear lakes and majestic waterfalls, this valley is a paradise for nature lovers! The three main valleys (“Y” shape) showcase turquoise lakes, cascading waterfalls, colorful forests, and snow-capped peaks.

Here is a typical sightseeing route: Start exploring the park by heading to Rizegou, starting from the Primeval Forest. This route is renowned for its stunning array of colorful lakes and picturesque landscapes. Make sure to visit Arrow Bamboo Lake, Panda Lake, Five Flower Lake, and Pearl Shoal Waterfall.

Afterward, proceed to Nuorilang and walk to Nuorilang Waterfall, one of the park's most iconic sights. Here you can rest and enjoy lunch (at your own cost). Nuorilang offers plenty of restaurant options. You can refuel before continuing your adventure.

Next to the other part of Y shape, a visit to Long Lake. Here, you'll be greeted by the stunning sight of blue waters set against the backdrop of snow-capped mountain peaks. The view is nothing short of breathtaking!

If you still have energy, you can continue exploring more of the park. After Jiuzhaigou sightseeing, exit the park and transfer back to your hotel.

Tips: Jiuzhaigou Entrance fee is included. Here is optional fee in Jiuzhaigou: sightseeing bus (¥90 in high season, ¥80 in low season). As Jiuzhaigou is huge area, therefore a sightseeing bus is a highly recommend must for travelers

Day 6

Jiuzhaigou → Zhongcha Valley → Minjiang River Source → Chengdu

Morning: Visit Zhongcha Valley, a hidden gem with snow-capped peaks, colorful forests, and Tibetan villages. It is a valley about 10 kilometers long and 3.5 kilometers wide. The altitude at the entrance of the valley is 2189 meters, and the altitude at the top of the mountain is about 4000 meters. It is a niche and treasured tourist destination. Guest can enjoy butter tea and explore the valley's natural beauty. You can experience activities like horseback riding (horse riding here is an optional activity at cost), forest hiking, and feeing intangible cultural heritage.

Afternoon: Stop at Minjiang River Source Wetland Park for a short walk (30 minutes). Depart by high-speed rail back to Chengdu. Tour disbands. If you are leaving Chengdu today, please book flight after 7pm.

Free time and depart Chengdu

Today is free tim for you until departure to airport. Tips: we recommend you book the flight into Shuangliu Airport, because Tianfu Airport is very far from the city. Additional cost will incur if pick up from Shuangliu airport.
