Tour Description

Discover 2 of the most popular UNESCO sites near Chengdu as you learn about 2 giants - The Giant Panda and Giant Buddha on this full-day tour.

Start the tour with pick up from your hotel located within the 2nd ring of downtown Chengdu(Or meet your guide at the meeting point). Enjoy a comfortable transfer to the Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding which is just a 1-hour drive away at the edge of the city. Spend approximately 2 to 2.5 hours exploring the breeding center. See over 170 pandas from tiny pink newborns to giants which reach up to 1.5 meters tall. Admire the adorable panda babies running around their play enclosures, laying in the pool, or climbing the trees.

Next, head over to the historic Leshan Buddha located is 2.5 hours away along the expressway. Stop for a quick lunch, then discover the world's largest sitting Buddha statue which is about 71 meters high crafted out of a cliff face. If the situation allows, the guide will take you for a closer look at the Buddha's head and feet. Find out more about Buddhism and local beliefs in the Lingyun Temple next to the Giant Buddha.

After 2 hours at Leshan, head back to Chengdu. Depending on traffic, END THE TOUR NEAR TIANFU SQUARE. PLEASE BE NOTED: HOTEL DROP-OFF SERVICE IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE TOUR.

Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding Half-day Tour

Tour Itinerary：

Get up close and personal with Chengdu's cutest residents on this half-day tour. After getting picked up from your hotel in downtown Chengdu, enjoy a 40-minute drive to the Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding.

Go for a stroll along the park's bamboo-shaded path and visit the adorable pandas in their enclosures. You will have the opportunity to see pandas of all ages. Afterward, head to the Panda Nursery to see the baby panda cubs.

Later, meet the raccoon-like red pandas in their enclosure, then leave the panda base and get dropped off in central Chengdu(Tianfu Square) in the noon.

Chengdu: Leshan Grand Buddha Full-Day Group Trip

Visit the UNESCO site Leshan Grand Buddha. Walking down from the Buddha statue top to the feet by the cliff path. Worship the 71 Meter high, 1,200 years old Buddha.

Tour description:

Leshan Grand Buddha was listed as the World Natural and Cultural heritage by UNESCO in 1996. Leshan Giant Buddha, the largest stone sculpture of Buddha in the world, sits at the confluence of the Minjiang river, Dadu river and Qingyi river. It has been very well preserved during the past 1,200 years. As tall as 71 meters, the Buddha Statue occupies a whole mountain cliff facing the conjunction point of 3 rivers, hence there is a proverb passed down generation by generation that “the Buddha is a mountain and the mountain is a Buddha”

The guide will pick you up at your hotel/hostel lobby in the morning, then head to Leshan Grand Buddha. It is a ride of 2.5 hours by the expressway; sightseeing the beautiful rural scene of Western Sichuan Plain while driving on the way. The rice fields, vegetable greenhouses, grape garden and tea plants are laid out along the expressway.

Reach Leshan Giant Buddha at noon, after having lunch you will visit the Giant Buddha Statue.

At the site, you can choose one of the following options to explore the Giant Buddha:

Hiking up the mountain– We highly recommend this option, as it allows you to explore the Buddha up close and gain a deeper understanding of its history and significance.

Taking a boat cruise – Enjoy a panoramic view of the grand statue from the water.

After 3h's visiting, then drive back to Chengdu. The tour concludes at Tianfu Square in the late afternoon, offering you convenience to continue your evening in the city.

Chengdu: Dujiangyan Irrigation System-Mt. Qingcheng Day Tour

Tour Itinerary:

This tour provides a detailed plan for exploring two of Sichuan's UNESCO World Heritage Sites in a single day. You'll experience the ancient engineering marvel of Dujiangyan and the serene Taoist mountains of Mount Qingcheng, with convenient transportation from Chengdu.

In the morning, the guide and driver will pick you up at your hotel (free pick-up for the hotels within Chengdu 2nd ring road) and the drive to Dujiangyan.

Dujiangyan Irrigation System is a remarkable feat of ancient engineering still functioning after 2,250 years). You can explore the world's oldest non-dam irrigation system. See Yuzui Fish Mouth Levee1, Feisha Yan Spillway, and Baopingkou Water Diversion Mouth. Learn about ancient Chinese hydraulic engineering wisdom.

After having lunch in local restaurant, then you will head to Mt. Qingcheng, which is one of China's most sacred Taoist mountains known for its serene beauty and cultural significance. You will discover the birthplace of Taoism in China.Visit Jianfu Palace, Shangqing Palace, Laojun Pavilion, and Tianshi Cave. Option to take cable car or hike.

In the late afternoon, drive back to Chengdu in air-conditioned vehicle and typically ends at Tianfu Square.

2-Days Group Tour: Chengdu Panda Base, Leshan Giant Buddha and Mt. Emei

Different from the big cheap Chinese speaking group tour, this English-speaking small join-in tour gives visitors the chance to visit Emei Mountain both Golden Submit on the top and Wannian monastery located at the waist of the mountain, visitors will see the whole beauty of this holy Buddhist mountain.

Day 1 Chengdu-Panda Base-Leshan-Mt. Emei (Distance: 180KM, 2 hours driving)

Step 1: 7:00-8:00am, hotel pick-up.

Step 2: 8:30-11:00am, visiting Chengdu Research Center of Giant Panda Breeding.

Step 3: 11:00Am-13:00, driving to Leshan.

Step 6: 16:30-17:15, driving to the foot of Mt.Emei, free visit Emei mountain square until about 18:00.

Day 2 Sightseeing of Mt. Emei, go back to Chengdu by Bullet Train

(about 1 hour and 12 minutes)

Step 1: 07:00-09:00 Changing to the local sightseeing bus and going up to Leidongping, walking about 20 minutes to the cable car station, take cable car to Golden Submit (Round way cable car 120RMB/person at your own expense).

Step 2: 09:30-11:30 Sightseeing on the mountain top --- Golden Submit, visit Golden temple, the silver temple, the huge Puxian Statue, enjoy the magnificent view of the clouds, mountains, forest.

Step 3: 11:30-14:00 Driving down to Wannian Temple by sightseeing bus, take the cable car one way up to visit the monastery (one way cable car up-going 65RMB/person at your own expense), we can buy some snacks at Wannian parking lot as lunch.

Step 4: 14:00-17:00 Hiking down the mountain from Wannian Temple to experience the beautiful nature of this mountain, passing Qingyin Pavilion, Moneky Zone until to WuxianGang bus station.

Step 5: 17:00-18:00 Drive down the mountain by sightseeing bus, then go to Emeishan Train station by our tour vehicle.

Step 6: 18:00-20:00 Take Bullet Train back to Chengdu, it is a ride about 1 hour and 12 minutes, the tour group dismissed at Chengdu Railway Station. (Please be noted that, we will try to book the train tickets in the duration 18:00 to 20:00, the exact train number and timetable are not fixed yet, it depends on the availability on the day.)
