Tour Details

07:00

We will be waiting for you at the pick-up point and then we'll take a drive to Dujiangyan Panda Base. It's situated roughly 65km away from the city center of Chengdu, and the journey takes approximately 1.5 hours depending on the road conditions. Please note: The pick-up location will be disclosed one day prior to the arranged date.

08:30-09:00

Arrive at the Dujiangyan Panda Base around 8:30am and we will register and sign a security contract with the Giant Panda Volunteer Service Center. After that, we will be provided with overalls and gloves as volunteers. Before starting work, we will receive job safety training and an introduction to the job content.

09:00-10:00

We need to remove any residual bamboo materials, including the bamboo remnants and the pandas' excrement. After that, we will introduce fresh bamboo to the exposure area. Additionally, we will also pay close attention to the giant pandas' living environment and their current state. Finally, we will also clean the pandas' house to ensure their living conditions are clean and comfortable.

10:00-11:00

Embark on a captivating adventure as we navigate the mystical world of pandas. Under the expert guidance of our instructor, unlock the hidden meanings behind their behaviors. Journey through the panda base as we explore their enchanting world.

11:00-11:30

Watch as the instructor delicately feeds the adorable pandas and attempts to mold their behavior under the instructor's watchful eye. A captivating display of animal training at its most delightful!

11:30-13:00

All the volunteers will have a lunch with the staffs in the panda protection and research center.

13:00-14:00

Watch captivating documentaries on giant pandas to understand how humans safeguard these adorable animals and coexist harmoniously with them.

14:00-14:30

Volunteers can personally prepare the special food for elder pandas under the guidance of the instructor.

14:30-15:00

Take the special food to the pandas and learn how the instructor provide daily care to these elder pandas.

15:00-15:30

The instructor explains the panda wowotou formula first, then all the volunteers make panda cakes for giant pandas under the instructor's leading. Learn the benefits of the wowotou.

15:30-16:00

You will be awarded an unique certificate for panda volunteer keeper as an unforgetable experience, showing your love to giant panda. Then return the working overalls and see goodbye to the giant pandas and your instructor.

17:30

Drive back to Chengdu and drop you off at the drop-off location (same as pick-up location). Tour ends.

Special Remarks

Be sure to put on comfy shoes appropriate for work. Avoid wearing flip-flops or stilettos.

Please refrain from wearing perfumes or using any products with irritant smells, such as mosquito repellent, skin care, makeup, etc., and avoid painting your nails.

Volunteers are needed to be in tip-top condition. If you are currently fighting off any illnesses (cold, fever, or infectious diseases), please do not apply for this program.

When registering the program, please carefully read the security agreement. Although giant pandas may seem adorable and harmless, they are actually carnivorous animals. Therefore, you are not allowed to touch the pandas. Each volunteer must follow the instructor's guidance and arrangements, and strictly adhere to the rules and regulations.

The aforementioned arrangements may be subject to adjustments, delays, or cancellations due to specific circumstances (policy shifts, pandemics, natural disasters, etc.).
