    Xian, the capital of Shaanxi Province, is an important birthplace of the Chinese nationality as well as one of the places of human origin and prehistoric cultural centers in Asia. Right now Xian is a city with glorious historical sites attracting thousands of tourists every year.

    The Terra Cotta Warriors and Horses
    The Terracotta Warriors and Horses is one of the most important archaeological finds with troops, horses and carriages in battle formation in the world.
    They are the largest pottery figurine group ever unearthed in China. The museum covers an area of 16,300 square meters, divided into three sections: No. 1 Pit, No. 2 Pit, and No. 3 Pit respectively.
    It is called as the eighth wonder of the world, and is announced as the world cultural heritage by UNESCO.
    Bell Tower and The Drum Tower
    They have been referred to as "the Morning Bell" and "the Dusk Drum". The Bell Tower is originally built in 1348 and situated in the very heart of the city. It is the most well-preserved and best-known one in China.
    The base of Drum Tower is 1,924 square meters in size, and 34 meters high. They offer spectacular photographic opportunities, and great view of Xian's nightlife.
    The Big Wild Goose Pagoda
    The 10-storey pagoda was an architectural marvel and is one of the most famous Buddhist pagodas in China.
    The walls and doors of the Big Wild Goose Pagoda are carved with dazzling and elegant figures of Buddha, representing elite work in the field of paintings of the Tang Dynasty.
    Initially built in 589, it's the sanctum for the renowned monk Xuan-zang to translate and explain the sutra of Buddhism.
    Shaanxi Provincial Museum
    Covering an area of over 70,000 square meters, the museum contains more than 370,000 relics including Bronze wares, terra cotta figures, gold and silver wares and murals from three thousand years ago. The museum is a large Tang-style stone buildings with white tile eaves occupied an area of 65,000 square meters (16 acres).
    The Great Mosque
    Set up in 742 AD during the Tang Dynasty (618-907 AD), it was built in the shape of a rectangle from the east to the west, and is subdivided into four courtyards each with historically fascinating religious records.
    The Great Mosque attracts millions of tourists annual both for its century-old history and its distinctive design of mixed architecture - traditional Muslim and Chinese styles.
    Huaqing pool
    For centuries, Huaqing Hot Springs functioned as a place for retreat and bath. There are numerous classical style buildings at the site and many murals decorate the walls.
    35 kilometers east of the city of Xian, it was known as Huaqing Palace and also had the name "Huaqing Pool" because of its location over the hot springs.
    In Tang Dynasty, Emperor Tai Zong ordered the construction of Hot Springs Palace, and Emperor XuanZong had walled palace in the year 747 which was known as Huaqing Palace.
