| China has become an important tourism destination in Asia, and the fifth large tourism country in the world. China has a big step improvement in tourism in last 20 years. At present, China is fast on its way to becoming a country with developed tourism, and constantly improving tourism facilities and services. Friendly Chinese people welcome tourists from all the world and try to make all the visitors feel like at home.

China is a multi-religious country, with over 100 million followers of the various faiths. Most of religious worshippers follow Buddhism, and other major religions are Daoism, Islam and Christianity in both its Catholic and Protestant forms.
The Buddhism was fist introduced to China from India approximately in the first century A.D; Islam probably first reached China in the mid-seventh century; Christianity reached China several times after the seventh century, and was introduced to the country on a large scale after 1840; Protestantism was first introduced to China in the early 19th century and Taoism probably took form as a religion during the second century, originating from sorcery, pursuit of immortality and other supernatural beliefs in ancient China.
China has 55 ethnic groups apart from the Han nationality. In the 31 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities and servicemen of the mainland of China, 1,159.40 million persons or 91.59 percent were of Han nationality, and 106.43 million persons or 8.41 percent were of various national minorities.
Religious Han Chinese tend to practice Buddhism, Christianity or Taoism. The Hui, ( Some live in Xian), Uygur, ( in Xinjiang), Kazak, Kirgiz, Tatar, Ozbek, Tajik, Dongxiang, Salar and Bonan peoples adhere to Islam; the Tibetan, ( in Tibet), Mongolian, Lhoba, Moinba, Tu and Yugur, to Tibetan Buddhism, and the Dai, Blang and Deang to Theravada Buddhism. Quite a few Miao(in Guilin, Guizhou, Yunnan), Yao (in Guilin, Guizhou, Yunnan) and Yi ( in Yunnan) are Christians.
