Huangshan city, also called Tunxi, is a prefecture-level city centered around the Yellow Mountains in southern Anhui province. Most travelers pass through on their way for the mighty Mt Huangshan.

| Tunxi Ancient Street |

Tunxi Ancient Street is situated in the center of Tunxi District with a long history dating back to the Song Dynasty (960-1279). The Old Street is 1.5 kilometers long and 7 meters wide. Here people can buy the best tourist souvenirs in all styles and with most reasonable price, including Chinese painting in Anhui style, print, rubbing from a stone inscription, Goldstone seal cutting, Chinese pot gardening and root carving ink stone and so on. |
| Yixian county |
 | Located at the foot of Mt. Huangshan, Yixian County is one of the two oldest counties with a history of more than 2200 years in Huangshan city, Anhui Province. The lush hills, crystal clear streams and exquisite dwelling houses have a strong appeal to tourists. Yixian County has two ancient villages, Xidi and Hongchun, which are both listed on the World Cultural Heritage sites. |
| Xidi village |
 | With a history of nearly 1000 years, Xidi Village was listed as a world cultural heritage site by UNESCO in 2000. Xidi Village is located in the southeastern part of Yixian County and has over 300 buildings of the Ming and Qing dynasty, of which 124 maintain the basic appearance and feature they used to be. Besides, elegant and impressive folk houses and delicate garden are must see for any tourists. |
| Hongcun village |
 | Hongcun Village, located in the southwestern foot of Mt. Huangshan, was inscribed as a World Cultural Heritage by UNESCO Heritage Committee in late 2000. Village Hongcun covers an area of about 28 hectares and surrounded by houses and ancestral temples. The structure of buildings built in the Qing dynasty follows local architectural style and is elegant and blends closely with nature. |
| Huangshan Mountain |
Mt. Huang in East China Anhui province is celebrated for having all the features of mountain scenery and known as the No. 1 Mountain under heaven.
Its unique scenery of jagged peaks and twisted pines are often depicted in traditional Chinese paintings. Rocks, mist, trees, and waterfalls make it an unforgettable place. Xu XiaKe, a noted Chinese geologist and traveler in Ming Dynasty, praised Mt. Huang as the best of all mountains.
It is characterized by the four wonders, namely, odd-shaped pines, grotesque rock formation, seas of clouds and crystal-clear hot springs. The best way to enjoy the mountain is hiking. The most popular route is to ascend via the Easter steps, and descend via the Western steps. It was about a 10-hour hike, if completed in one day and only recommended for those in excellent health. |
