| Renowned as the national park of nature and a Museum of history, Huangshan city, also called Tunxi, is a prefecture-level city centered around the Yellow Mountains in southern Anhui province. Most travelers pass through on their way for the mighty Mt Huangshan. It has under its jurisdiction three districts (Tunxi, Huangshan and Huizhou) and four counties (Shexian,Yixian, Xiuning and Qimen), which cover much of the area used to be known as Huizhou. Most tourists in Huangshan City visit Mt. Huangshan Scenic Spot which is well-known for its four wonders of spectacular peaks, odd-shaped pines, hot springs and seas of cloud. In addition, Xidi and Hongcun villages in Yixian County, which were listed as a world cultural heritage site by UNESCO in 2000, attract particular attention for the clustered houses. |
| Tunxi Ancient Street | Yixian county | | Situated in the center of Tunxi District with a long history dating back to the Song Dynasty (960-1279). The Old Street is 1.5 kilometers long and 7 meters wide. Here people can buy the best tourist souvenirs in all styles and with most reasonable price, including Chinese painting in Anhui style, print, rubbing from a stone inscription, Goldstone seal cutting, Chinese pot gardening and root carving ink stone and so on. | Located at the foot of Mt. Huangshan, Yixian County is one of the two oldest counties with a history of more than 2200 years in Huangshan city, Anhui Province. The lush hills, crystal clear streams and exquisite dwelling houses have a strong appeal to tourists. Yixian County has two ancient villages, Xidi and Hongchun, which are both listed on the World Cultural Heritage sites. |

| With a history of nearly 1000 years, Xidi Village was listed as a world cultural heritage site by UNESCO in 2000. Xidi Village is located in the southeastern part of Yixian County and has over 300 buildings of the Ming and Qing dynasty, of which 124 maintain the basic appearance and feature they used to be. Besides, elegant and impressive folk houses and delicate garden are must see for any tourists. |
located in the southwestern foot of Mt. Huangshan, was inscribed as a World Cultural Heritage by UNESCO Heritage Committee in late 2000. Village Hongcun covers an area of about 28 hectares and surrounded by houses and ancestral temples. The structure of buildings built in the Qing dynasty follows local architectural style and is elegant and blends closely with nature. |
| Huangshan Mountain | | Huangshan situated in the eastern part of China, is a one of China¡¯s best-known scenic spots. The scenic area covers 154 square kilometers, and is renown for its spectacular rocky peaks, odd-shaped pines, crystal-clear mountain springs and seas of clouds. The natural scenery in the area changes beyond prediction. Xu Xiake, a noted Chinese traveler, praised Huangshan Mountain as the best of all mountains. In December, 1990, The Huangshan Mountain was listed in the Chronology of Recognition of World Heritages in China. The Mountain has numerous mountain peaks, of which seventy-two have names. The highest is Lotus Flower Peak at an altitude of 1860 meters. The other two prominent peaks are Guang'Ming'Ding (Bright summit) at 1840 meters and Tian'DuFeng (Heavenly Capital Peak) at 1840meters respectively. There are other sites like Jade Screen Tower, Rock Fiying in from Afar and Shixin Peak , which are also celebrated wonders. |
