Day-To-Day Itinerary
Day 01: TBA - Kunming Upon arrival, our local guide will meet you and escort you to your hotel. Kunming is home to a mix of ethnic groups and endowed with a remarkable traditional folk culture. The rest of the day is at your own free.
Day 02: Kunming (B+L) After breakfast you will drive about 120 kilometers to the Stone Forest showing you a natural wonder of limestone karst formation formed 270 million years ago. The Stone Forest occupies an area of 400 square kilometers and consists of a whole range of karst formations. In the afternoon you will drive back to downtown city to stroll amongst the Flowers and Birds Market.
Day 03: Kunming - Dali (B+L) Take the morning flight to Dali, well-known historical and cultural city inhabited by Bai people. After checking in and freshening up, you will pay a visit to Erhai Lake, the largest highland lake and one of the seven biggest fresh water lakes in China. Then proceed to the Three Pagodas, a symbol of the history of Dali City. Also enjoy wandering around the Dali Ancient Town first established in 1382 AD.
Day 04: Dali - Lijiang (B+L) In the morning take a 3-hour drive to Lijiang. Upon arrival, our local guide will escort you to begin the journey to the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain directly, which is situated 15km north of Lijiang city, on the south bank of the Yangtze River with an altitude of 5600 meters above sea level. Jade Dragon Snow Mountain now is a popular tour destination for sightseeing, mountaineering, skiing, trekking and scientific research. Also pay a visit to Baisha Frescos. These frescoes are both essential to the research of Chinese painting and important cultural heritage relics too.
Day 05: Lijiang - Shangri-La (B+L) Start the day with set out on the long drive to Shangri-La. Shangri-La, also known as Zhongdian, a bright pearl mounted in the "Great Triangle" connecting Yunnan, Sichuan and Tibet. Along the way, visit the Tiger Leaping Gorge, which is regarded as one of the deepest gorges in the world with a depth of 3,000 meters. Here, the river twists and turns and vigorously swash against the rocks, the breakers sent up a fountain of spray. Then head to the First Bend of the Yangtze River, a world-famous geological phenomenon and an unrivalled panoramic scene which makes tourists lingering. Arrive in Shangri-La in the late afternoon.
Day 06: Shangri-La (B+L) A full-day excursion will take you to the Songzanlin Monastery, the largest and the most important Tibetan Buddhist Lamasery in Yunnan province. In the afternoon then proceed to Bita Lake. The main attraction of this area is the Tibetan folklore, the primeval forest, the highland meadow, and the highland flowers and plants. The final stop is Napahai Lake, nearly 8 kilometers northwest of Zhongdian town. It is the habitat of some rare birds such as black necked crane, mallard flock and bar-headed goose.
Day 07: Shangri-La - Kunming (B+L) Fly back to Kunming in the morning. Upon arrival ,you will be escorted to visit Golden Temple Park, one of the four largest bronze temples in China. Also pay a visit to Western Hill. Tourists are fascinated by quite a few scenic spots in West Hill, including Huating Temple, Taihua Temple, Nier'er Tomb, Sanqing Pavilion and Dragon Gate.
Day 08: Kunming - TBA (B) The tour guide will transfer you to the airport and help you board the plane to your next destination with wonderful memories.
